Joann Straka

Joann Straka, age 80, of Spring Hill, Tennessee passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023. Joann Straka of Spring Hill TN passed away on Friday January 27th 2023 at the age of 80. She was born on September 16, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania growing up on Troy Hill. She was also a former resident of Winston Salem, North Carolina (1980-2011) and most recently Spring Hill, TN. She is preceeded in death by her father Frank Sukits and mother Jean Campbell Sukits. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Daniel Straka and 2 daughters: Lori Straka Bender and Michelle Straka Baron. She is also survived by her pride and joy - her 5 grandchildren: Scott, Zach, Elizabeth, Lauren and Austin as well as her 3 sisters, Jean Sukits Ward of Glenshaw, PA, Arlene Sukits Wilson of Crafton PA, and Patricia Sukits Roman of Cedar Point, North Carolina. She will be remembered for her strong faith, deep love for family and music, and her fabulous holiday decorating and family gatherings. Joann was one of the original members of the Peterson's for Parkinson's Franklin TN support group and always looked forward to singing in the Parkinson's choir.
