Obituary of Ardell Boyd Ellsworth
Boyd Ellsworth, 81, of burley, Idaho, formerly of Sawyer, North Dakota, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 1st with his loving family by his side. Boyd was born in Towner, North Dakota. He was the son of Alfred and Bertha Ellsworth. Boyd was united in marriage with his sweetheart, Shirley Mae Kennedy on September 26th, 1964 in Velva, North Dakota. Boyd started school in a Truax Traer mine camp near Velva, North Dakota. It was a One room school house. He graduated from Velva High School in 1960. Shortly after marrying, he and Shirley moved to Seattle where he worked in the steel making industry for 26 years. He and Shirley moved to Onion Creek, Washington in 1991 where he grew a garden, hunted, fished, and enjoyed being able to “live off the land”. After 26 years there, age motivated them to move closer to family. They moved to Burley, Idaho and have been grateful to be close to their son Dan and his wife Darlene. Boyd is survived by his wife, Shirley of 58+ years; three children, Daniel Boyd Ellsworth (Darleen) of Burley, Idaho; Julie Ellsworth (Mike) and Kelsey Swift (Jason) of Gig Harbor, Washington; Grandchildren, Jacob, Tatum, and Finn Swift; Sisters, Lynette and LaVoughn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Boyd was preceded in death by his brothers, Darrel, Jerry, Vergil, and Bubber, and his sister, Linda. The family plans a celebration of life at 4:00 PM on Saturday February 11 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - Star 2nd Ward, 96 South 200 West; Burley, Idaho 83318 with Bishop Michael Ricks officiating. There will be no viewing prior to the service. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.neptunesociety.com/location/boise-id-cremation for the Ellsworth family.
