Lucy Cobb (Elliott) Goodrich

On Sunday, January 29, 2023, Lucy Cobb Elliott Goodrich, loving wife and mother of two, passed away at the age of 80. Lucy was born on September 15, 1942, in Carrollton, Georgia, to Glenn Pierce Elliott and Mildred Robinson Elliott. The second of two children, Lucy, has a brother, Glenn. On March 22, 1963, Lucy married Jerome Duncan Goodrich, Jr, and they raised two children, a daughter, Robyn, and a son, Glenn. Lucy was, first and foremost, a caring and loving mother. Her motherly nature went beyond her immediate children to her grandchildren and, of course, her dogs. Lucy’s love for animals was legendary, and she spent much of her life volunteering at animal shelters and rescuing many pets. Lucy had a few careers, from real estate in Wyoming to receptionist at a local daycare. Everyone she interacted with came to know her sense of humor and directness. Lucy’s sense of humor was how most people would remember her; we will sorely miss it. Her family will tell “Lucyisms,” the family folklore of their mom’s escapades, going forward, bringing back the laughter she inspired. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, father Glenn, and mother Mildred. She is survived by her two children, Robyn and Glenn, her brother Glenn, and six grandchildren (Jake, Logan, Luke, Emma, Lily, and Becca).
