Michael E. “Mike” Kirshner of Peachtree City, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, July 20th at the age of 92. He was born in Philadelphia, PA where he grew up. His fondest childhood memories were of summers spent at Toms River, NJ swimming, sailing, and fishing with his parents and two sisters, Eileen and Sue.
He graduated from Penn State University where he was a Sigma Nu. After serving in the U.S. Army in Korea, he moved to Atlanta where he began work for General Motors at the Lakewood Assembly Plant in the Industrial Engineering Department. There in Atlanta, he met his wife, Artie. They were married for 60 years.
He was actively involved in recreational golf at Flat Creek and Cannongate courses for many decades. He and Artie also loved taking the family on vacations at the beach.
He is survived by his wife, son, Michael Jr., and step-daughter, Laurie.
