Carol Hendon Felando

Carol Felando, 77, of Watkinsville, passed away on November 13, 2022. Born on April 23, 1945, She was the daughter of the late John Thomas Hendon and Blanche Sweet McLaine Hendon. Carol left this world the same way that she lived in it: with bravery, grace and courage. A lover of good books, the outdoors, great friends, and her family, she lived a life full of accomplishment and satisfaction. She was a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a friend, a nurse, a hiker and a mentor. Her achievements were many, but a few of her favorites were hiking the entire Appalachian Trail, forging enduring friendships and raising her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Blake Hendon, and sisters Charlotte Bracey and Gail Strader. She is survived by her brother John Hendon, sister Jackie Beck, daughter Kimberly Marie Hall (Brad), granddaughter Avery Sweet Hall and beloved nieces and nephews. A Celebration of LIfe will be held at the Botanical Gardens Garden Club Headquarters Building on November 20 from 2-4. The family will receive friends from 2-3:30 and will take a hike through the woods and garden in her honor at 3:30. Her trail name was “Little Engine”.
