Thomas Joseph Fichter
March 2, 1938 – August 14, 2020
Thomas J. Fichter passed away on August 14, 2020 at his home in Lakewood, Colorado.
He is survived by his sister, Doris, (Chris) Fichter Crennen, brothers, Donald (Sandy) and Elmer (Irmi) Fichter, five nephews and one niece, all living in the Denver metro area. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Birta.
Tom was born in Richardton, North Dakota, and lived on a farm north of Taylor until 1944 when he moved with his parents, Roy and Elizabeth Zander Fichter from Taylor to Driscoll, North Dakota. He attended school in Driscoll and lived on the farm until 1961. Tom served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963, receiving an honorable discharge. He and his siblings all moved to the Denver area between the years 1961 and 1965.
Tom was a very nice and generous brother, always pleasant to be around and willing to help anyone who needed help. He worked heavy equipment for most of his working life. Tom and his brothers had great times hunting and fishing and he will be sincerely missed.
Funeral arrangements are pending due to the virus, but burial will be at Fort Logan Cemetery in Denver, Colorado, with military honors.
