Jane Louise Godwin

Jane L Godwin (Clanton, Currier) 92, passed on 03/10/2023. Born in Washington DC, the eldest daughter of Fredrick and Nan Currier (Young). She was raised in St. Petersburg, FL, where she attended St. Pete HS. She moved to MA with her 1st husband, Marshal Clanton. Later divorced and she worked hard as a single parent. While in Beverly, MA she worked at Varian Assoc., GE, and Sylvania. In 1967 her 2nd husband, Everett B Godwin, took the family to Bahrain Arabia while in the Navy. . They lived in Key West FL where they snorkeled, fished and camped. Ed retired in SC where they had a small farm for a few years. They later moved to AL where they ran an old time country store. After their divorce she moved back to St. Pete FL. To take care of her step mother, Ann Matola and her father until their passing. Jane retired from AAA Travel Agency in Tampa where she enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. She went on a number of cruises and tours with family and friends. She also worked for the Loughman Society in St Pete and Walmart. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, embroidery, crochet, painting, and gardening, bird watching, and caring for her many cats. She lived a life of love and adventure. She always did her best to help others in need whenever she could. She spent her final years living with her daughter Susan in Davenport, FL. Jane is predeceased by her parents, step-mother and her youngest sister Virginia Aylward and her 2 ex-husbands. She is survived by her sister Alberta Ezell of Winter Haven, step brother Eddie Currier of Palm Harbor and her children; Marsha Clanton, Bonnie Walsh, Susan Adams, David Clanton and Walter Godwin. Jane has 10 grandchildren, 7 great grand-children, and one great great-grand-child. Jane is a member of the Neptune Society. She will be cremated at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Crematorium in Gotha.
